I hear it all the time, “I’m doing everything from eating right to working out, why am I not losing weight?”

I know it’s a tough process to lose weight. It takes determination and discipline to eat right and make sure to workout when you are supposed to and to stay away from junky food… but whenever someone says “I’m following the plan and it’s not working…” well i’m 100% positive that if i followed you around for 24 hours, i bet that you are not sticking to your weight-loss/fat-loss plan. Guess what, that’s okay! But you need to adjust it to make it work for you otherwise you are never going to lose the pounds that you initially set out to lose.

Here are 10 possible reasons why you are not losing weight:

  1. You Overeat Healthy Foods

    Sounds silly, but just because it’s healthy doesn’t mean you can eat more of it! Foods like nuts, avocados and fruit can add on the pounds if you don’t watch your intake. So make sure to eye-ball out portions and don’t go back for seconds!

  2. You Don’t Eat Breakfast

    Ahhhh I can’t stress this enough when it comes to not only weight-loss, but healthy nutrition over all. You just starved your body for 6,7,8+ hours – THANK IT AND FEED IT with a healthy breakfast first thing in the AM (no, a cup of joe does not count!). If you “don’t have time” – YES YOU DO, make a quick shake that takes less than 60 seconds to blend up!

  3. You Still Drink Soda and other Sugary Drinks

    These calories add up like CRAZY! 150 calories here, 250 calories there and all of a sudden by 8pm you’ve ingested over 1000 liquid calories! Stick with lemon flavored water, neuro water, green tea, tea, and other low calorie drinks… and trust me that your body will thank you for it!

  4. You Never Indulge

    Hmm… You might be thinking that’s a typo, but no, please have a cheat meal at least once a week. This is a major reset button for your metabolism and body. Now, don’t go binging out on an entire tub of ice cream or box of cookies… just have a small portion and be done with it, and tomorrow start over!

  5. You Eat The Wrong Thing After A Workout

    The easiest meal you can have after a workout that will satisfy your body right is a protein shake! It’s easy, filling and it gives your body what it needs (well if your buying the correct products!). This will help you recover, fill your belly and feed your muscles.

  6. You Don’t Sleep Enough

    Your body needs time to recover and rest. Just think of it as time for the tiny little miracle fat-burners inside you going to work and crafting away at toning your body – get as close to 8 hours as possible!

  7. You Don’t Eat Enough

    Make sure you know you BMR (basal metabolic rate), here’s a calculator. This is important to know because you need to at least eat those calories daily and then additional when working out. Not enough food = starvation mode = you will not lose weight because your body is holding onto everything!

  8. You Wear Baggy Clothes

    Yup, they’re super duper comfy but they also hide the fact that you have some pounds to lose… if you were fitted clothes not only will it help you think twice before picking up that chocolate cake, but it will help you gauge progress and results. Fitted clothes will help you stay motivated!

  9. You Only Do Cardio

    Muscles burn fat. It’s the quickest way to lose fat. So incorporated with clean eating, weight lifting is a great way to expedite fat loss. Incorporate weight training and cardio into your fitness routine, here are some.

  10. You’re Kinda On A Diet
